Andrea Superstein is one of the most versatile voices in Canadian music today. Dubbed as „redefining jazz“ by the Vancouver Province, her debut performance at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival earned her a nomination for a Galaxie Rising Star award and launched her squarely into the limelight. She later shared a triple bill with Canadian female heavyweights Laila Biali and Brandi Disterheft.
Adding savvy vocals to whatever she touches, from nu-jazz and downtempo electronica to Latin grooves, Andrea lures listeners in with killer improvisational instincts, exceptional storytelling, and a red-hot band.
Her music exemplifies powerful vocals,evoking the gentle and the strong, the light and the dark, deep blues to pop confection, often in the same song. She lithely navigates the colours of the emotional spectrum with ease.
Her newest single “Say It Ain’t So” (2023) is a synth heavy creative reimagining of Weezer’s classic 90’s anthem, gracing Exclaim’s Eh-List on it’s first day and her upcoming multimedia project Oh Mother showcases her ever growing creativity as songwriter and arranger.
