The European quintet (France, Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg and Germany) led
by Jean-Baptiste Berger, saxophonist and clarinetist, Persuasive offers a new
repertoire of original music: AERO!
This original repertoire with stirring melodies by saxophonist Jean-Baptiste
Berger finds its influence in contemporary jazz as well as in pop, rock,
traditional and classical music.
Persuasive wants to be cosmopolitan in both its choice of musicians and its
references, showing the possibility of being at home in a place and touching
universality without denying one’s own identity.
After numerous formations such as the critically acclaimed formation Cadillac
Palace, which was rewarded with an audience award at the Tremplin Jazz
d’Avignon 2014, this project had its beginnings at JazzPlaysEurope, a European
springboard for young jazz musicians, for which Jean-Baptiste Berger was
selected in 2012 to represent France.
Through his encounters, he surrounded himself with talents from the European
scene to share his music, which is both simple and accessible as well as
harmonically and rhythmically complex.
With Sacred Indispensable Jazz News, the “unveiling of a new European
quintet” for his first album Persuasive, Jean-Baptiste Berger continues this
adventure and “wonderfully illustrates the fruitfulness of exchange at the
European level”.
